A suicide bombing, on April 18, 2003, killed 66 people in the U.S. Embassy in Beirut.[1] The previously unknown "Islamic Jihad Organization" claimed responsibility; Islamic Jihad in Lebanon at the time may have been another name for Hizbollah, or, according to Robert Baer and others, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Imad Mugniyah is suspected as having headed the operation.[2]
