Political Cesspool is an AM radio and Internet show, hosted and produced by James Edwards, with a mission of representing "The Dispossessed Majority. We represent a philosophy that is pro-White and are against political centralization. We make no attempt to give you "both sides."" The show is produced in Memphis, Tennessee.[1] It is primarily listener supported, but sponsors have included the League of American Patriots, Council of Conservative Citizens and the Institute for Historical Review. Edwards and his staff avoid coarse language, and, at their in-person appearances, are apt to be in business dress. In this manner, they can appeal to a broader political base than some of the older white nationalists; Edwards himself is in his late twenties or early thirties. One of its sponsors, the League of American Patriots, has been visible at Tea Party Movement events, but the more traditional White power groups have not been evident at Tea Party events. Edwards founded the show in 2004, and interviews a wide range of Political Cesspool/Related Articles#Guests|controversial guests, and himself works to expand his "pro-White" movement. The show said, in April 2008, that it was working with the Council of Conservative Citizens to form a West Tennessee chapter; he also spoke at their June 2007 conference. He attended an American Renaissance conference, with his "good friend" Jared Taylor. Edwards was a speaker at a May 2007 Stormfront meeting. The Anti-Defamation League considers it extreme. [3] The Southern Poverty Law Center calls the show "the primary radio nexus of hate in America".[4] SPLC quoted Edwards' CNN interview with Paula Zahn, when she asked why not celebrate diversity, he answered, "My primary interest is to protect and safeguard my family. Whites are in for the fight of their lives. America is becoming balkanized. We are being robbed of having a future in the very nation our ancestors carved from the wilderness." Patrick Buchanan has featured his interview on the show, praised by the Council of Conservative Citizens and condemned by the Anti-Defamation League. [5] References
