Yuma Proving Ground, of the U.S. Army, is both a physical test facility in the desert conditions of Arizona, but also a headquarters for military environmental testing at tropic (Tropic Regions Test Center, managed from Panama with operations in multiple countries), and cold (Cold Regions Test Center, Alaska) test sites.
