Hajime Sorayama (born 1947) is a Japanese artist known for his super-realistic airbrush pin-ups and gynoids (female robots), and the artificial intelligence robot dog AIBO that he designed for Sony. Sorayama's rise to fame started with his surfing organic robotic form in 1978 and in particular in the mid-1980s when he published a series of organic metal clad female forms from which the art establishment coined the phrase "Sexy Robots" [1].
