Arthroscopy is a subset of endoscopy, concerned with "endoscopic examination, therapy and surgery of the joint".[1] The technique is widely used in orthopedics and sports medicine.
Images from the arthroscope are commonly transmitted to an electronic display, although older arthroscopes allowed direct viewing.
