U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary
The U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary' oversees the U.S. Department of Justice, law enforcement functions of other agencies including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. It approves nominations both for appointment in executive agencies under its jurisdiction, and also advice and consent to Federal judicial nominations under Article III of the Constitution of the United States.
The current chairman is Patrick Leahy (U.S. Democratic Party|D-]]Vermont, while the ranking minority member is Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama).
